Bryonie was employed by the Prince of Wales Theatre after completing a 5-week placement there, in which she gained experience in all areas, including sound setup and mixing, lighting design and operation, stage management, stagehand work, and manual hemp flying.
She is predominantly a sound technician, with experience working amateur musicals such as Shrek (CWAGMS), Addams Family (Lichfield Stagecoach) and Rent (SplitMask), as well as providing sound for dance school shows at the theatre. Shrek was her biggest show to date, in which she assisted with the mixing and operation of 21 radio microphones and 17 pit microphones. However, she enjoys all aspects of technical theatre and always looks forward to gaining experience in the other areas, such as being a stagehand and learning how to hemp fly whilst working on Sister Act during her placement.
Her biggest achievement in regards to being a sound technician at The Prince of Wales is setting up, mixing and operating sound for the 2022 Christmas pantomime, PMA Production's Jack and the Beanstalk as this was her first completely solo project, which she completed with great success and reviews.
A full breakdown of her technical experience, including all the companies she has worked with, can be provided upon request.
As well as her work at the Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock, Bryonie is a freelance theatre technician who works with amateur dramatic groups and dance schools across the Black Country and Shropshire, providing sound, lighting and stage management depending on the requirements of each individual group.
She has worked with the amateur theatre groups Get Your Wigle On and Curtain Call in Shrewsbury at Theatre Severn. Her roles having included Stage Manager/Flying Supervisor (both set and people, with training to do so by Blue Chilli Flying Company) for Get Your Wigle On's Nativity! The Musical in November 2022, Company Technical Manager/Lighting Designer for Curtain Call's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in April 2023, and Lighting Designer/Sound Designer and Operator for Curtain Call's Into the Woods in May 2023. Furthermore, she has worked with the group TADLOP (Telford and District Light Operatic Players) in Telford as Followspot for The Hunchback of Notre Dame in October 2022 and Assistant Stage Manager/Sound no.2 for 9 to 5 in April 2023. She is also the Senior Sound Technician for Sutton Arts Theatre Company, a role she obtained upon successfully providing the sound for Company in May 2022, which required the setup and levelling of 15 head mics, an 8-piece band mixed from their location in a separate room to the auditorium, on-stage foldback, and teaching the company's sound operator for that show. Since then, she has setup the sound for Sutton Arts' pantomime Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood in November 2022, with plans to work with them again in July 2023 for Funny Girl.
Bryonie has also provided sound, stage management or followspot for dance schools such as Revolution Dance Academy at the Mill Theatre, Sedgley, and LA Studios (Livingston Academy) at the Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock.
Recently, she has begun working as a freelancer for the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, working fit-ups and get-outs on sound, lighting and stage. This led to her working as Sound No.2 on the Wolverhampton Grand's in-house 2023-24 pantomime, Snow White.
